EVTKE was set as a local civil initiative and has been operating for more than 10 years at the Lake Velencei with the aim to combine water-related activities with environmental protection and attitude formation. Main aims are: organisation of environmental-related programmes (monitoring of the Lake’s status, mapping of KPIs and contamination, floating waste collection tours, botanical and habitat research), environmental education and awareness raising in particular for younger generations, organisation of water-related mass sport activities, with a close cooperation with local municipalities, the national park and other civil organisations. It promotes the environmental awareness for the next generations to prevent the environmental crisis from worsening, thus contributing to the preservation of nature sustainability.
